here's a series of three vids I made a for inspiration when designing a base for a ring to pave ,initial, add center stones or whatever just play with it so to speak
best watched in full screen mode (lower right icon by the jing viewing slider) nothing too hard again just something to play with.... also you don't have to always 'scale' the points you can just move them around
5min goes by fasttt when your trying to show a technique!

Hey Pat, nice videos.
Why not make a series of 5 min vids showing the making of an actual ring from start to finish? I think people would get more from that than just showing tips and tricks. _________________ Regards,

no time! and if I did it wouldn't be nothing too spectacular anyway..... the tips are to open up ones imagination or offer different ways to play around /experiment a little .....maybe the next one I'll finish....it's hard to make a 5min vid using jing, no room for mistakes/ editing (as you could see from the mistake I made when spliting the surface on the last video).... I could make them using camtasia but I just have time for the quick jing vids at this time... I do have a little time to watch anyone else's vids if they want to make and post one..thanks guys just something to play with ....have fun! _________________ roland mdx-40, mdx 15

I wish you guys used vx. I wonder if I post some vx videos if you guys would like to see it. It would be interesting to see somebody model the same design in rhino I do in vx, to see how different the programs work. _________________ mdx-40 don rotary table with combo fixture

Tnx Pat that is awesome.
One question ......How do I set two different colors for inside and outside surfaces like in your video?
